Carrying Out Your GAME Plan

Resources:
Each student will be provided access to a laptop with internet access in class.  Students will use their Google accounts and complete all work using Google Docs.
Students will be supported in their creativity, research and organization by utilizing the following project preparation document: https://docs.google.com/document/d/124Y_k61gHijk_RRhBIBETLJ5mjPJhT2xWdVAwiR6RHY/edit
The document contains links to tutorials, demonstrations, and explanations of each step of the process.
My professional learning community that will take on the task of monitoring and evaluating the unit will meet once before the unit begins, once during the student research and project creation and once after the projects are turned in.

Information:
Proven approaches to supporting successful student inquiry and project creation will prove invaluable as guides in constructing and carrying out instruction, guidance and support for student learning.

Completed:
The initial PLC meeting took place and the class has conducted exploratory research to choose topics.  The class has just begun to work on their project preparation documents.

Developing Your Personal GAME Plan

Goals:
I am working to "facilitate and inspire student learning and creativity"  and to "design and develop digital age learning experiences and assessments" (International Society for Technology in Education).

Actions:
Goal 1 (inspired learning and creativity) - My plan is to give my students a great deal of freedom in deciding the topic and focus of their final inquiry projects.  In addition, students will be given a great deal of freedom in choosing the form their inquiry findings will be shared through (e.g. website, movie, etc.).
Goal 2 (digital age learning experiences) - The final inquiry/project learning unit will take place entirely in a digital medium.

Monitoring:
I plan to use a professional collaborative review of the materials and processes that I use to facilitate the unit and of the student work.

Evaluate:
The same professional learning community will serve to collaboratively evaluate the successes and areas of growth for the unit.  The findings will be applied to future instruction.
